Acure Health Corp. (Acure) is a private Alberta company formed to provide Canadians with rapid access to quality healthcare. Our Medical Access Insurance program (MAI) is focused on health conditions which negatively impact a person’s quality of life. Most of these conditions are subject to long waiting lists for diagnosis or treatment within the public system. Acure knows your health is important to you and has developed a strong network of strategic partnerships to ensure that you have access to the highest quality medical care in world class facilities - offering the medical assistance you need, when you need it.

Acure’s insurance products are underwritten by Industrial Alliance Pacific Insurance and Financial Services Inc. (IAP).

Industrial Alliance Pacific Insurance and Financial Services Inc., formerly known as North West Life, began as a mutual company in 1951. It later demutualized, and in 1967 became a federally registered company. In 1982 the company was acquired by Industrial Life. Following the merger of Industrial Life and Alliance Life in 1987, North West Life became a part of the Industrial Alliance Group of Companies.

In June 1999 North West Life assumed the business of Seaboard Life, whose own roots go back to 1912 in Saskatchewan. The new combined organization is a life insurance company with assets of more than $2 billion, and the only full service life insurer in Canada with its head office west of Winnipeg.

This new entity changed its name on 1 September 2000, and now operates as Industrial Alliance Pacific Insurance and Financial Services Inc. ("Industrial Alliance Pacific").
